This review is a long time coming. I held a baby shower at my house for about 20 people in November 2021. The theme was high tea and I researched which local places could cater and be the most authentic. Selina spent a great deal of time talking me through the menu, explaining all the food, and helping me decide what would be perfect for my party. I ended up getting a great variety of scones, sandwiches, pasties, and a few of the extras. The food was excellent and all the ladies loved it. It was so wonderful, displayed nicely, and most of all, was so tasty. I can't wait to try high tea in her shop. Thank you Selina for all your help. Laura

This was one of the most delightful afternoons I've ever had. The presentation was so elegant; only secondary to the scrumptious and generous portions of savories and teas. I loved the creme caramel rooibos tea and Banofee. We came to celebrate my friend's birthday, and were treated like royalty. Our server couldn't have been any sweeter. It's been rough lately, and this was just what was needed to uplift our spirits.

We got carry out Christmas Tea for four people today!! Each person’s savories and sweets were packed separately, with fun little extras included! Excellent service from overworked staff who remained pleasant and charming throughout! Our favorite spot for tea for many years now. Maybe next year we can “dine in” once more!! And we shopped for scones, puddings, spotted dick, tea, clotted cream, sausage rolls, meat pies, etc.

I love the Shakespeare Corner Shoppe! I used to come here with friends at least once a year when I still lived in San Diego, and it was always such a fun experience. The staff is so friendly, the tea and food are spectacular, and the shop is a delight to explore. I moved several years ago, and this place is one of the things I miss the most. If you come for afternoon tea, don't eat beforehand! You'll need room for all the delicious treats on the tray! :)

Usually, I would give this store a good review but definitely not today. When I opened the door to go in, there was a yell from inside and a lot of hand flapping. Apparently an employee had been working on the door but without the foresight of locking it to prevent customers coming in or asking a colleague to stand outside to ask customers to wait. The employee then loudly exclaimed to everyone, “How can you possibly not see that I was right by the door!” Very easy when you’re coming from a bright outside to a darker interior. I felt extremely embarrassed and singled out. I’ve probably spent $1000s in this store over the years but I won’t be shopping there again if this employee is there when I go in, there’s plenty of other options these days. Selina, there’s been so much good stuff over the years but I really didn’t appreciate this.

Absolutely amazing service!! Love your products and so happy to find I could order online during pandemic. Highly highly recommended, staff always goes above and beyond.

Amazing experience! Great selection of teas and I love that everything is baked in-house. Definitely one of the most authentic British Tea rooms in San Diego :)

Best afternoon tea ever! From sandwiches to scones, fruit to desserts, delightful surprises throughout the experience. More protein than any tea for the sugar -conscious. The endless array of teas made the choice difficult!

We had a wonderful time! The tea was wonderful (I picked up a bag of the monthly special—black currant, which is to die for). Our server, Gigi, was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. BTW, the sponge cake with blueberry icing was AMAZING!

Have been to teas all over the world and the few San Diego has. The physical place is depressing. Our server was disappointing. Food and tea was OK. Would not choose to do our special Christmas tea here again.

My husband and I always come here anytime we make it to San Diego. Its my husbands little piece of home. Super authentic and would recommend anyone to go here!

we had a wonderful time enjoyed the delicious fish and chips thought I was back home for a while, the service was excellent and will definitely be back.

Yesterday I purchased some scones for my mom. We both agree they are the best we ever had. I said to myself 'that is how a scone should tast'!

So glad I came here with my best friend. Very quiet at 4 pm, great service, can't wait to come here again.
